Cindy manages the firm’s international department. She files patent and trademark applications for clients in foreign countries and files applications in the United States on the behalf of foreign associates. Cindy also maintains records and corresponds with clients regarding the annuities due to keep these foreign applications in force.

Cindy was a legal assistant for a general practice law firm in her home town of Grand Island, Nebraska before relocating to Des Moines in 1996 when she came on board with the Zarleys as a Front Desk Coordinator. In 1997, Cindy first became involved with the foreign department of the firm. Now managing that area, Cindy enjoys the challenges that international IP provides, researching the issues and communicating with foreign associates. She attends the annual Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Seminars to stay abreast of the ever-changing laws regarding foreign intellectual property.

Cindy has always respected Don Zarley’s business philosophy and admired his dedication to his clients. She is happy to see these values continue in the practice now that his son Tim is in charge. Outside of work, Cindy is a volunteer “mother” for international students at Drake University. She also enjoys tennis, golf and her church.
