Joe specializes in all aspects of intellectual property law. Prosecuting patent applications and assisting with litigation matters are two main areas of his practice. Joe’s technical expertise lies primarily in the areas of mechanical and electrical engineering, though he has also prosecuted computer and chemically based applications during his tenure.
Joe grew up in rural Illinois and worked summers in a manufacturing factory to help put himself through the undergraduate program at Bradley University, where he received a degree in Engineering Physics. He also worked with John Deere during his senior project regarding their Rotary Cutter System. Joe’s background allows him to take complex subject matters and explain them in a simple and clear manner.
Joe enjoys talking with examiners to get patents and trademarks allowed. He and his wife, Brandi, make their home in the Beaverdale neighborhood of Des Moines, where they have joined several neighborhood organizations and are active in their community.
