Ruth Fisher Retires After 33 Years with Zarley Law Firm
Open House event celebrates a remarkable career
Friends, business associates and co-workers gathered recently at the Zarley Law Firm to honor Ruth Fisher. An Open House was held at the firm’s office on August 21, 2007 to celebrate Ruth’s career and offer best wishes during her retirement.
Ruth became acquainted with the Zarley Law Firm back in the late-1960s, when she accepted a temporary two-week assignment with the firm. Before joining, Ruth had been employed in various positions with the Iowa Senate, preparing amendments to pending legislation and the Iowa Code, finally becoming Legislative Counsel for the Iowa Senate.
In September of 1974, Don Zarley was able to make Ruth a permanent fixture at the Zarley Law Firm. She and Don established a friendship that was the basis for a career that spanned more than three decades.
During her career, Ruth’s contributions as a paralegal with the firm were innumerable and immeasurable. She was responsible for the review of crucial patent and trademark actions received from the USPTO, and she advised clients regarding these actions and deadlines. Ruth also reviewed all foreign files and correspondence, contacting clients and foreign associates regarding a variety of issues.
Ruth gave every task her utmost attention and handled each with expertise. In addition to her strong work ethic and her dedication to the firm, Ruth always graced us with her unfailing good-nature. She could be counted on to do the job right and to do it with a smile.
As Ruth looks forward to spending time with her family and friends, we thank her for a job well done and for so many years of wonderful memories.
