Zarley Law Attorney La’Cee Conley has been awarded the LEAP Community Achievement Award provided by the Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce. LEAP, or the Leadership, Education, and Advancement Pipeline provides the award to “recognize the accomplishments of an individual that maintains an unwavering passion and commitment to advancing women.” La’Cee has been voted the winner by “clearly demonstrating superior leadership; mentorship, and philanthropic involvement” through “examples of how she has inspired change and growth in her industry; paving the way for equality; and by supporting the work of underrepresented groups.”

Nominated by Iowa State University, where she is pursuing her Master of Business Administration, La’Cee demonstrated her dedication to the success of students and businesses alike through her continual business and legal mentorship at the AgriTech Accelerator and the Iowa State University StartUp Factory, her writing on international women’s health issues and law, her teaching of aspiring attorneys at Drake University Law School, her volunteerism in judging middle and high school students in the Iowa State Bar Association’s mock trial tournaments, and her various leadership positions on professional and community boards including the City of Waukee Board of Appeals and the Iowa State Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Council. La’Cee believes that leading women should steward the growth and achievements of other leading women by teaching, researching, or just listening over a cup of coffee. The award was conferred to La’Cee during the LEAP Summit on October 4.
